Psychedelic preparation is as important as the psychedelic journey itself, it helps you prepare both mentally and physically for what you will experience. Psycho-education can enhance a journeys usefulness by allowing you an understand how psychedelics work, the effect they have on physical brain structures, how long these last and how this can assist in your therapy.
Psychedelic integration therapy is a supportive, nonjudgemental, and client centred approach that helps you process and make meaning from your psychedelic experiences. It is designed to help you integrate the profound insights gained during your psychedelic journey, whether it took place in a clinical trial, retreat abroad, ceremonial setting or any other context.
The main goal of integration is to assist in processing your experience and introducing this new awareness into your daily life and relationships. Integration is as important as the psychedelic experience itself, it ensures that benefits such as reduced anxiety or depression, relational connectedness and changed thinking patterns do not fade away. Integration therapy involves revisiting the visual, somatic and emotional aspects of a psychedelic journey and gaining an understanding of their meaning and significance.
I believe that psychedelic integration is helpful for anyone who has experienced an expanded state of consciousness at any point in their lives.
Psychedelics are illegal in the UK, have long been seen as "Hippy drugs" and have been out of mainstream therapy and general awareness since the 1970s, however, there has been a massive increase in scientific research since the early 2000s and psychedelics are now being recognised as having huge potential to help in many areas of both mental and physical health.
Psychedelics are not currently legal in the UK, but I work with clients that are planning or have experienced a psychedelic journey, be that in a clinical setting, ceremonial setting abroad or individually.
I do not supply psychedelics or facilitate psychedelic journeys in the UK.

Preparing for a psychedelic journey can be exciting and daunting at the same time.
If this is going to be your first experience of an expanded state of consciousness for therapeutic purposes, you will probably have a lot of questions, be curious and cautious. This is a healthy response to trying something new and different.
Structured preparation can help you become aware of the uses and limitations of various psychedelics, the possibility of their interaction with prescribed medications and health conditions, as well as a greater understanding of how they actually work (the neuroscience bit).
Establishing a relationship with your therapist before you have a psychedelic experience allows a level of trust to build, this will help you gain the most from the early integration phase afterwards, while your brain is at it's most adaptable.
We can work together to establish your aims for the experience, what you hope to learn about yourself or the wider world and consolidate these thoughts into Intentions. Intentions in a psychedelic context are questions that you hold in your mind as the experience begins. Whilst there is no guarantee that these questions will be answered during your experience, a lot of people find the answers are shown to them either directly or indirectly and become clearer during integration therapy.
We can formulate a plan of physical preparation, so that your body can be in the best possible condition to maximise the effects and benefits of the psychedelic. This can include things as varied as breathing exercises, stretching, practicing wearing an eye mask (this can be a challenge for some people), healthy eating and in the last few weeks before your experience cutting down on caffeine and minimising your sugar intake.
Traveling abroad for your psychedelic experience can add a layer of stress for some people, so planning journeys, researching train times and how to buy tickets, are all things that can be considered in the preparation phase in order to allow you to arrive at the start of your psychedelic experience in the least anxious, best possible physical and mental condition.
Considering your welfare and ability to mentally and emotionally process your psychedelic experience immediately afterwards is also a consideration; should you take a few days off work? Should you come straight home to family and everyday life after a retreat or take a few extra days of quiet time? When should you see your therapist? We can examine and answer these questions and the many more that you will have, during the preparation phase.
By working together to take a truly holistic approach to psychedelic preparation, we can ensure that your build up to the experience places you in the best position to take full advantage of the magical adventure you have planned.

In my practice I utilise the abundance of natural environment we have locally and provide bespoke therapy packages to suit you as an individual.
I have a wealth of experience working of with clients integrating journeys taken while in an expanded state of consciousness, this includes psychedelics, plant medicine and breath work experiences. I can use my understanding of a variety of therapies to create a way forward that encompasses both mind and body, as I believe that neither can exist or be helped in isolation from the other.
Having spent many years in the military I have seen first hand the impact of trauma on both service personnel and civilians. Trauma and PTSD are areas I have studied extensively so that I am able to offer the best therapy for every individual that is living with the many after-effects of experiencing trauma. Scientific studies both in the UK and abroad are showing the benefits of using psychedelics in the world of trauma therapy and are highlighting the fact that integration therapy after a psychedelic experience is essential.
Many people believe that a single psychedelic experience can encourage protective parts of our mind to step aside in a way that could take up to 12 months of talk therapy. Whilst this may seem like a 'quick fix', the underlying trauma and self beliefs revealed by this need to be acknowledged, respected and integrated in a safe, lasting way.
Becoming comfortable with and making sense of the often magical and mystical experiences that occur when you take psychedelics can be difficult as it is a unique experience. This can be especially tough if those around you don't have an understanding of altered states of consciousness or they may not know that you have tried them. Having a trusted, understanding, nonjudgmental therapist can make processing your experience easier and more enjoyable and it can enable you to honour the mystical elements that can feel almost beyond words.
Your integration therapy is unique to you, there is no set time it will last, no hard and fast rules as to how it will be or what methodology we will use. It is a collaboration that finds the most effective, comfortable and effective way for us to work in order to maximise the psychedelic experience you have had.

How does psychedelic coaching differ from psychedelic therapy ?
Coaching is a more directive, here and now, practical based intervention whilst in therapy we can look into past experiences, trauma, attachment styles and deep routed beliefs.
We can focus on personal development, goal setting and the practical application of the changes that your psychedelic experience has allowed you to start making. We can create actionable steps to help form productive daily habits, improve relationships and allow your new insights to positively affect your everyday life choices.
Both coaching and therapy will allow you to integrate various elements of the knowledge and insights you gained during your psychedelic experience and most people benefit from a combination of the two.

During psychedelic experiences many people discover a new love of, connection to and respect for the natural environment.
As a qualified Shinrin Yoku practitioner I am able to help you connect and engage with the beautiful trees, woods and fields around my therapy space.
Spending time around trees allows us to connect with nature in an immediate, tangible way. Not only does the sight of them naturally relax our senses, but the sounds they make as the breeze passes through them has been proven to be one of the most relaxing sounds for humans. Added to the fact that trees give off chemicals that are scientifically proven to reduce stress levels in humans, in as little as 15 minutes, is the natural joy of being outside.
We can utilise the scientifically proven, calming benefits of being in nature in our therapy sessions by combining this with empathic, non-judgemental talk therapy to help you move forwards in the most comfortable, productive way possible.

I provide a safe, confidential space in which we can explore your life, feelings, thoughts and emotions. If that sounds a bit much don't worry, we work at your pace and I am always right beside you.
Exploring these things before a psychedelic experience leads to an understanding of who you are, how you interact with those around you and react to life's events.
This can enable us to prepare for your psychedelic journey by setting intentions, addressing any concerns you have and managing expectations in a way that will help you gain the best possible results. This in turn can help you heal, grow and move towards getting the most out of your life.
After a psychedelic journey we can incorporate the magical and mystical elements of your experience into a therapeutic understanding of what you were shown and learnt and how theses things can help you transform your life in positive meaningful ways.
No judgement, no opinions, just support, understanding and compassion.
